കേരള ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലേക്ക് രണ്ട് വനിത അഭിഭാഷകരെ ജഡ്ജിമാരാക്കാൻ ശുപാർശ
New Delhi: കേരള ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലേക്ക് രണ്ട് വനിത അഭിഭാഷകരെ ജഡ്ജിമാരായി നിയമിക്കണമെന്ന് സുപ്രീംകോടതി കൊളീജിയം ശുപാർശ ചെയ്തു. ശുപാർശ കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാരിന് കൈമാറി.
സുപ്രീംകോടതിയിലെ മുതിർന്ന അഭിഭാഷകയും മലയാളിയുമായ Liz Mathew, കേരള ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലെ അഭിഭാഷക A.K. Preetha എന്നിവരെയാണ് ജഡ്ജിമാരായി നിയമിക്കാൻ നിർദേശിച്ചത്.
Liz Mathew കൊച്ചി പനമ്പിള്ളി നഗർ സ്വദേശിയാണ്. മാത്യു ആന്ത്രപ്പേർ-മറിയാമ്മ ദമ്പതികളുടെ മകളാണ്. കേരള ഹൈക്കോടതി മുൻ ജഡ്ജി ആർ. ബസന്തിന്റെ മകനും സുപ്രീംകോടതിയിലെ മുതിർന്ന അഭിഭാഷകനുമായ Raghend Basant ആണ് ഭർത്താവ്. മക്കൾ താര ബസന്ത്, നിഖിൽ ബസന്ത്.
A.K. Preetha കൊച്ചി ചിറ്റൂർ സ്വദേശിനിയാണ്. ഇടുക്കി പീരുമേട് സ്വദേശിയായ പരേതനായ അഡ്വ. ബി.ആർ. അരവിന്ദൻ നായരുടെയും കൃഷ്ണമ്മയുടെയും മകളാണ്. തിരുവനന്തപുരം പിങ്ക് പൊലീസ് കേസിൽ എട്ടുവയസുകാരിക്ക് നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം ലഭ്യമാക്കാൻ നിയമ പോരാട്ടം നടത്തിയതിലൂടെ ശ്രദ്ധ നേടിയിരുന്നു.
കാഞ്ഞിരപ്പള്ളി സെന്റ് ഡൊമിനിക്സ് കോളേജ് ഓഫ് ലായിലെ പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ S.S. Giri Shankar ആണ് ഭർത്താവ്.
