തിരുവനന്തപുരം: വേനൽമഴയുടെ ഇടവേളകളിൽ കേരളത്തിലെ തീരദേശ ജില്ലകൾ ഈർപ്പമുള്ള ഉഷ്ണതരംഗങ്ങൾക്ക് കൂടുതൽ ഇരയാകുന്ന പ്രവണത വർധിച്ചുവരുന്നതായി പഠനം. യു.കെയിലെ University of Reading ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞർ നടത്തിയ പഠനത്തിലാണ് ഈ കണ്ടെത്തൽ.
യു.കെ, ഇന്ത്യ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ വിവിധ ഗവേഷണ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുമായി ചേർന്ന് നടത്തിയ പഠനത്തിന്റെ ഫലങ്ങൾ Climate Dynamics ജേണലിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മൺസൂൺ ഇടവേളകളിൽ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ തീരദേശ ജില്ലകളിൽ ഉയർന്ന തോതിൽ ഈർപ്പമുള്ള ഉഷ്ണതരംഗ സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്ന് പഠനം വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു. ഈ സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ ജനങ്ങളിൽ ഗുരുതരമായ ആരോഗ്യ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ ഇടയാക്കുമെന്നാണ് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ്.

വായുവിലെ ഈർപ്പം കൂടുതലായാൽ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന തണുപ്പിക്കൽ സംവിധാനമായ വിയർപ്പിന്റെ ആവിയാകൽ കുറയുകയും, അതുവഴി ശരീര താപനില നിയന്ത്രണം ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
