ക്ഷീരകർഷകർക്ക് ഗുരുതര ഭീഷണിയായി മദ്ധ്യകേരളത്തിൽ കുളമ്പുരോഗം പടരുന്നു
കൊച്ചി: മദ്ധ്യകേരളത്തിൽ കുളമ്പുരോഗം വേഗത്തിൽ പടരുന്നത് ക്ഷീരകർഷകർക്ക് ഗുരുതര ഭീഷണിയായി മാറുന്നു.
ആദ്യം ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിൽ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്ത രോഗം, രോഗബാധയുള്ള ഉരുക്കളെ കന്നുകാലി ചന്തകളിലെത്തിച്ച് വിൽപ്പന നടത്തിയതോടെ എറണാകുളം, കോട്ടയം ജില്ലകളിലേക്കും വ്യാപിച്ചു.
ഇരട്ടക്കുളമ്പുള്ള വളർത്തുമൃഗങ്ങൾക്ക് ആറുമാസത്തിലൊരിക്കൽ നിർബന്ധമായും നൽകേണ്ട പ്രതിരോധ വാക്സിൻ എട്ടുമാസമായി ലഭ്യമാക്കിയിട്ടില്ലെന്നതാണ് കർഷകർ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുന്ന പ്രധാന പരാതി.
വാക്സിനേഷനായി ആവശ്യമായ മരുന്നും സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ജില്ലാ മൃഗസംരക്ഷണ ഓഫീസുകളിൽ സജ്ജമായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും സംസ്ഥാനതല ഉദ്ഘാടനം വൈകിയതും, ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് ജോലികളിൽ ഏർപ്പെട്ടതും പ്രതിരോധ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളെ താളം തെറ്റിച്ചു.
വെറ്ററിനറി ഡോക്ടർമാരെയും ലൈവ്സ്റ്റോക്ക് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർമാരെയും തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് ചുമതലകളിൽ നിന്ന് ഒഴിവാക്കി അടിയന്തര വാക്സിനേഷൻ തുടങ്ങണമെന്ന് കർഷകർ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു.
രോഗം പൂർണ്ണമായും നിയന്ത്രണ വിധേയമാകുന്നതുവരെ എല്ലാ കന്നുകാലി ചന്തകളും താൽക്കാലികമായി അടച്ച് മൃഗങ്ങളുടെ ക്രയവിക്രയം നിരോധിക്കണം എന്നും അവർ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
നിലവിൽ രോഗബാധ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്ത തിരുമാറാടി പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ അസുഖം ബാധിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങൾ സുഖപ്പെടുന്ന ഘട്ടത്തിലാണ്.
പുതിയ കേസുകൾ റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലെന്നും, കർഷകർക്ക് ബോധവത്കരണം ശക്തമാക്കിയതായും ജില്ലാ മൃഗസംരക്ഷണ വകുപ്പ് വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

Although the outbreak was first reported in Alappuzha, the sale of infected cattle in markets has helped the disease spread to Ernakulam and Kottayam.
