കൊല്ലം: വിനോദയാത്രയുടെ ഭാഗമായി കർണാടകയിലെ ഗോകർണ ബീച്ചിൽ എത്തിച്ച കോളേജ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനി കടലിൽ മുങ്ങി മരിച്ച സംഭവം ദു:ഖം വിതരിച്ചു.
കൊല്ലം പരവൂർ കോട്ടപ്പുറം സ്വദേശിനിയായ കല്യാണി (20) ആണ് മരിച്ചത്. കർണാടകയിലെ കാർവാർ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലെ രണ്ടാം വർഷ എം.ബി.ബി.എസ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിയായിരുന്നു അവർ.
കൊപ്പലിലെ കെഎംസി മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലെ 17 വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ ഗോകർണയിൽ വിനോദയാത്രക്ക് എത്തിയിരുന്നതിനിടെ, വൈകുന്നേരം എല്ലാവരും കടലിലെ തിരമാലകളുമായി കളിക്കാൻ വെള്ളത്തിലിറങ്ങി.
ആ സമയത്ത് കല്യാണി തിരയിലകപ്പെട്ട് കടലിൽ മുങ്ങി പോയി. നാട്ടുകാരും വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളും ചേർന്ന് നടത്തിയ തിരച്ചിലിന് ഒടുവിലാണ് കല്യാണിയെ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്, ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയെങ്കിലും ജീവൻ നഷ്ടമായി.
സംഭവത്തെ കുറിച്ച് ഗോകർണ പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്തു.

A medical student from Kollam, Kalyani (20), drowned while swimming at Gokarna Beach in Karnataka during a college trip. She was a second-year MBBS student at Karwar Medical College.
