തിരുവനന്തപുരം: നന്തൻകോട് ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ സ്വരാജ് ഭവനിൽ മാലിന്യകൂമ്പാരത്തിന് തീപിടിച്ച് രണ്ട് സർക്കാർ വാഹനങ്ങൾ പൂർണമായി കത്തിനശിച്ചു.
ഇന്ന് പുലർച്ചെ അഞ്ചുമണിയോടെയായിരുന്നു സംഭവം. വിവരമറിഞ്ഞെത്തിയ ഫയർഫോഴ്സ് സംഘം സമയബന്ധിതമായി ഇടപെട്ട് തീ നിയന്ത്രണവിധേയമാക്കി.
ഉപയോഗശൂന്യമായി മാറ്റിയിട്ടിരുന്ന ഒരു കാറും പുതുതായി എത്തിയ മറ്റൊരു കാറുമാണ് പൂർണമായും കത്തിനശിച്ചത്.
സമീപത്ത് പാർക്ക് ചെയ്തിരുന്ന മൂന്നാമത്തെ വാഹനത്തിലേക്ക് തീ പടരുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് അഗ്നിരക്ഷാസേന തീ അണച്ചതിനാൽ വലിയ ദുരന്തം ഒഴിവായി.
ഇന്നലെ വൈകുന്നേരം സ്ഥലത്ത് മാലിന്യം കത്തിക്കാൻ ശ്രമം നടന്നിരുന്നതായി സൂചനയുണ്ട്. ഇതാണോ തീപിടിത്തത്തിന് കാരണമെന്നതടക്കമുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങൾ പൊലീസ് അന്വേഷിച്ചുവരികയാണ്.
