കെണിയിൽ വീണ് തച്ചംപാറയിൽ ഭീതി പരത്തിയ പുലി; കൂട്ടിൽ കുടുങ്ങിയത് ഇന്ന് പുലർച്ചെ
പാലക്കാട്: മണ്ണാർക്കാട് തച്ചംപാറയിൽ പ്രദേശവാസികൾക്കിടയിൽ ഭീതി പരത്തിയ പുലി വനംവകുപ്പ് സ്ഥാപിച്ച കൂട്ടിൽ കുടുങ്ങി. ചെന്തുണ്ട് പ്രദേശത്താണ് പുലി പിടിയിലായത്.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ആറുമാസം പ്രായമുള്ള പശുക്കിടാവിനെ പുലി പിടിച്ചതോടെയാണ് പ്രദേശത്ത് പ്രതിഷേധം ശക്തമായത്. നാട്ടുകാരുടെ ആശങ്കയെ തുടർന്ന് വനംവകുപ്പ് സ്ഥലത്ത് കൂട് സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇതേ കൂട്ടിലാണ് ഇന്ന് പുലർച്ചെയോടെ പുലി കുടുങ്ങിയത്.
ഏകദേശം അഞ്ച് വയസ് പ്രായമുള്ള പുലിയാണിതെന്ന് വനംവകുപ്പ് അറിയിച്ചു. ആരോഗ്യനില വിശദമായി പരിശോധിച്ചതിന് ശേഷം പുലിയെ ഉൾക്കാട്ടിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചുവിടാനുള്ള നടപടികളാണ് പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നത്.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒന്നര മാസത്തിനിടെ പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ വിവിധ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ കൂട്ടിലാകുന്ന പുലികളുടെ എണ്ണം ഇതോടെ നാലായി. വനമേഖലയോട് ചേർന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ പുലികളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം വർധിക്കുന്നത് ആശങ്കയുണ്ടാക്കുന്നുവെന്നും അധികൃതർ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

A leopard that caused panic in Thachampara, Mannarkkad in Palakkad district was captured in a trap set by the forest department at Chenthundu area. The animal had killed a six-month-old calf recently, triggering protests from local residents. Following this, forest officials installed a cage, in which the leopard was trapped early this morning. The leopard, estimated to be around five years old, will be released back into the forest after a health check. This is the fourth leopard captured in Palakkad district within the past one and a half months.
