തോറ്റത് 26 വോട്ടുകൾക്ക്; യുഡിഎഫ് സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥി കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണ് മരിച്ചു
തിരുവനന്തപുരം: തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോർപ്പറേഷൻ തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ യുഡിഎഫ് സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥിയായി മത്സരിച്ച യുവതി വീട്ടിൽ കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണ് മരിച്ചു. ഇടവക്കോട് വാർഡിൽ മത്സരിച്ച വി.ആർ. സിനി (50) ആണ് മരിച്ചത്.
ശ്രീകാര്യം ഇളംകുളത്തുള്ള കുടുംബവീട്ടിൽ വെച്ചാണ് സിനി കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണത്. ഉടൻ തന്നെ തിരുവനന്തപുരം മെഡിക്കൽ കോളജിലേക്ക് എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് ഫലം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച ദിവസം സിനി 26 വോട്ടുകളുടെ വ്യത്യാസത്തിലാണ് പരാജയപ്പെട്ടത്.
തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോർപ്പറേഷനിലെ മുൻ കൗൺസിലറായിരുന്നു സിനി. തിരുവനന്തപുരം മെഡിക്കൽ കോളജിൽ നിന്ന് ഫാർമസി ബിരുദം നേടിയിരുന്ന അവർ, സ്വന്തമായി ഫാർമസി സ്ഥാപനം നടത്തി വരികയായിരുന്നു. സിനിയുടെ അപ്രതീക്ഷിത വിയോഗം രാഷ്ട്രീയ സാമൂഹിക രംഗത്ത് വലിയ ദുഃഖമാണ് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
