ന്യൂഡൽഹി: രാജ്യത്ത് ടോൾ പിരിക്കൽ സംവിധാനം ഒരു വർഷത്തിനകം പൂർണമായും ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് രീതിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുമെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര ഉപരിതല ഗതാഗത മന്ത്രി നിതിൻ ഗഡ്കരി ലോക്സഭയിൽ അറിയിച്ചു.
പുതിയ സംവിധാനത്തോടെ ടോൾ പ്ലാസകളിൽ നിരയായി നിൽക്കേണ്ട സാഹചര്യം ഇല്ലാതാകുമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
നിലവിൽ ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് സംവിധാനം പത്ത് സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ പരീക്ഷണാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ നടപ്പിലാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ടോൾ പണമിടപാടുകൾക്കായി നാഷണൽ പേമെന്റ്സ് കോർപ്പറേഷൻ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ (എൻപിസിഐ) വികസിപ്പിച്ച ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് ടോൾ കളക്ഷൻ (എൻഇടിസി) ആണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്.
വാഹനത്തിന്റെ വിൻഡ്സ്ക്രീനിൽ ഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന റേഡിയോ ഫ്രീക്വൻസി ഐഡന്റിഫിക്കേഷൻ (RFID) അധിഷ്ഠിത ഫാസ്ടാഗ് മുഖേനയാണ് ടോൾ ഈടാക്കുന്നത്.
ഉപയോക്താവിന്റെ ലിങ്ക് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന ബാങ്ക് അക്കൗണ്ടിൽ നിന്നാണ് പണം പിരിയുന്നത്.
